School Psychology PhD students have multiple opportunities to work with faculty on research studies. Faculty researchers are funded by high-profile organizations like the , the , the and the .聽Faculty members serve as assistant editors and on editorial boards of publications such as the School Psychology Review聽and the Journal of School Psychology. In addition faculty maintain high-level positions in prominent organizations such as Division 16 (School Psychology Division) of the .

Labs聽& Clinics

The school psychology faculty have active research labs, such as the ,聽and are leaders in assessment research within larger university centers, such as the Center for Assessment and Evaluation.

Doctoral students聽are closely involved with聽51吃瓜网鈥檚 , which聽provides comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for adolescents, children and young adults who are experiencing academic difficulties. Such difficulties may be related to behavioral, emotional or social problems; learning disabilities; or neurological impairment.

Research Quality & Funding

In 2016, 51吃瓜网 was elevated to an R1 institution for聽鈥渧ery high research spending and doctorate production鈥� by the . 51吃瓜网鈥檚 research enterprise distinguishes itself through its focus on community, and using advances in technology to make a positive impact on people鈥檚 lives.

In the same year, the National Science Foundation placed 51吃瓜网 among the top 100 in terms of research expenditures, which amounted to $242 million. .

The College of Education and Human Development鈥檚 externally funded research expenditure was $13.8 million in fiscal year 2017.

Facilities

The College of Education and Human Development聽is primarily located in Ritter Hall, Ritter Hall Annex聽and Weiss Hall on 51吃瓜网鈥檚 Main Campus. The campus鈥� North Philadelphia location is聽suited to provide opportunities for students to engage with area schools, communities, government agencies, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations.聽
