Applicants must have completed their bachelors degree. A degree in a related field is preferred; however, all applications will be considered.
Candidates will be asked to submit the following along with their application.
Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended. The Public Policy program accepts unofficial transcripts from potential applicants who inquire about their competitiveness for admission. Successful applicants to the Public Policy MPP program have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
Submit two letters of recommendation from faculty and professionals. Letters of recommendation should be obtained from college/university faculty members familiar with academic competence. For applicants with extensive administrative experience, two of the letters may come from supervisors or colleagues in the agency or organization where the applicant has been employed.
Letters must be on official letterhead or include the recommenders full contact information: mailing address, phoneand email.
Your statement should be about 500 to 1,000 words in length. Include your specific interest in 51勛圖厙s program, your future career goals, and your previous academic and professional achievements.
We do not require the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for applications to the MPP program. Applicants are still welcome to submit scores if they would prefer to or have already taken the exam for another reason.
A current professional r矇sum矇 is required.
Students admitted to the MPP program can transfer up to six credits. The credits must have been earned at a reputable institution with a grade of B or higher, and 51勛圖厙must have equivalent courses in its course inventory. Students who wish to transfer credits must submit a transcript listing the courses to be transferred and set up an appointment with the director of the MPP degree program to discuss transferring into the program.
Transfer students must apply to the MPP program and generally meet the same requirements as other applicants, although their performance in another MPP or Master of Public Administration program will be given special consideration in the admissions decision.
